Ardentinny Snowdrops
Thank you to those who have planted them at the edges of their gardens where they can be seen from the road.
We would love it if our local photographers would get some good photographs of snowdrops this year, so that we might have a display of them at the Snowdrop Tea next year. Some of you will remember the lovely display of drawings and poems about snowdrops from Strone Primary School children last year. Local poet Janette Valentine wrote a poem about snowdrops which we made into cards which will be on sale again at this year's Snowdrop Tea - all proceeds from that will go towards planting more snowdrops around the village. We are very grateful to Janette for this.
We hope to see you on Saturday 21st, from 2 till 4 in the Village Hall. We will again be having a raffle to raise funds to plant a few thousand more snowdrops - if you'd like to help with the planting please tell us on Saturday!
(The success rate with establishing snowdrops is much much higher if you plant them at this time of year, 'in the green' as it is known, than if you plant dried bulbs in the autumn.)
